Founded and run by owner Supisa Teawbut (affectionately known as Boom!), Donsak Thai is a MUST TRY restaurant that endeavors to showcase the Thai flavors that Boom grew up with and pay homage to Don Sak, the beloved city in southern Thailand in which she was born and raised.

12 lucky GUESTies journeyed to Woodley Park to try a family-style menu curated by Boom. Boom spoke to our members about her endeavor to create a more authentic Thai experience that is less “Americanized” by sourcing ingredients internationally, creating an “Essan” menu of Northeast Thai dishes rarely found on American menus, and relying more on seafoods popular in her hometown of Don Sak, a fishing village.
