immigrant food

Immigrant Food is a “cause-casual” restaurant meant to celebrate the contributions of immigrants to America and help people “unite at the table.”  8 lucky GUESties got to enjoy a meal at Immigrant Food’s White House location and talk with the manager Lucia about the story and mission behind Immigrant Food.

Lucia told us about how Immigrant Food started with bowls because Chef Enrique Limardo, born in Caracas, Venezuela, identified rice as a key ingredient that spans cultures. Using research and partnership with local chefs, they have created a menu that spans five continents.

Lucia also shared the social impact mission behind the restaurant, including its partnership with Tables Without Borders, whereby some of the menu items are crafted by and support refugee and asylum-seeking chefs who are trying to enter the restaurant industry.

GUES recommends:

  • Belgian truffle fries

  • Filipino fried chicken

  • Madame VP Heritage Bowl (an Indian & Jamaican fusion of coconut-curry chicken)

  • Viet Vibes bowl (a Vietnamese Adobo-spiced chicken)
