fava pot

Voted “one of America’s 26 best food trucks” by the Food Network, Fava Pot originally started as a mission to serve home-style Egyptian cuisine in a warm, friendly environment. From slow-cooking their fava beans for 12 hours to fresh-made falafel dough from scratch, Fava Pot keeps sustainability and wellness at the center of their dishes.

12 lucky GUES members got to sit down for a family-style meal at Fava Pot’s Dupont location and talk with chef and owner Dina Daniel about her story, the social impact work Fava Pot does in Egypt, and the love that goes into each of her dishes.

We absolutely loved every dish we tried, from the koshary, a dish featuring lentils, rice, pasta, and a rich spicy tomato sauce topped with chickpeas and sweet caramelized onions, to the perfectly-tender kofta, to the delicious house-made hibiscus tea, apricot juice, and mint limeade.

GUES recommends:

  • Literally everything

  • but more specifically,

    • baba ghanoush

    • kofta

    • chicken kabob

    • hibiscus tea
